There is no job title on this deliberately. The work sits across systems administration, operations support and building the thing that replaces both, and every title we tried either undersold it or put off someone we would want to hear from. What we do

We work brand-side on commerce back office for fashion and lifestyle brands turning over £20m to £250m. Inventory, order flows, product data, finance, fulfilment, reporting and the integrations between them. Our clients are UK brands who have outgrown the way their systems were originally set up, and we sit inside their teams rather than selling them software.

What the work is

Every client relationship we have sits on a layer of systems work that has to happen whether or not anyone finds it interesting:

• Weekly, monthly and quarterly reconciliation
• Imports and exports
• Checking data has synced, and resyncing it when it has not
• Validating reports people have stopped trusting
• Integration events that need investigation
• Saved searches, permissions and the configuration requests that arrive all week
• Facilitating cross-functional sessions to get to root causes

You own all of it. Today this work reaches our consultants, who are the people clients are paying for project and advisory work. Within one month of you joining a client-raised systems ticket should not reach them first, if at all.

The first three months are intentionally repetitive

You spend them doing the work by hand, across every client, until you know how each operation actually runs. An operation has to be understood before anyone can redesign it. We would say that now instead of letting you find it out in month four.

The bigger half of the job

How support gets delivered here is yours to design. We have not standardised it, and the person who takes this on decides what it should become. That covers the tooling, how requests arrive and get triaged, what the client sees at each stage, how our systems talk to each other, and how much of the manual work stops being manual.

We want this run in the most modern way the tooling now allows. If the answer is an ITSM platform, make the case and we will back it. A good deal of what we run internally is built with AI tooling instead, and that route is open to you as well.
